Slaying The Near Extinct Rhino Of Truth

Hockey Mum’s Alarmingly Big Stack

O’Raily isn’t suggesting for a second that you indulge in some single issue politics here, but it does rather seem like half the suckers out there are giving some issues serious single issue action. So if there’s an outside chance you won’t beat them in November, join them now.

With the economy looking like a quarterly report for Bodog poker and seemingly un-winnable wars going on, you’d think it was time for the bigger picture? But no seems people could go hockey mum purely on the grounds of religious issue… holy Jesus. I mean, if we are gonna elect people on the grounds of single issue, lets basis it on an issue some people may actually enjoy.

Vote Poker

There are certainly enough online poker devotees to ensure a large chunk of support for Obama, hopefully countering the inexplicable rise in popularity of the Republicans since dinosaur-hating Sarah Palin was added to the ticket. Poker players have mounted impressive opposition in the past, one of the best examples being the Poker Players Alliance, a grassroots movement that today boasts over one million members. The PPA continues to campaign for a regulated online poker industry and the recognition of poker as a game of skill.

Certainly Obama seems to dig regulation, so for poker things seemed to be moving in the right directions before moose-murdering Palin got the nod from McCain.

Poker’s continent of common sense Daniel Negreanu shoots through Palin’s selection better than most:

“You know, McCain talks a lot about “good judgment” and how he doesn’t think Obama has it. I look at this decision and wonder… is he for real? This is no joke people, but he literally met her ONCE before meeting her again to give her the nomination. Once! He’s known this woman for less time than it takes to play a typical $1500 Stud event at the WSOP and he is comfortable with her being a heartbeat away from leading this country and dealing with global leaders? You can’t be serious.”

The selection of Palin and the subsequent popularity that has followed truly is shit news for online cardrooms everywhere.

Obama has repeatedly said that he would rather regulate the online poker and casino industry than ban it outright. This statement in itself has brought many poker followers into this fold, even those who formerly backed the Republicans, who feel that they cannot lend support to Obama’s rival, John McCain, who supports the current UIGEA.

So, if you must go single issue this November, make poker your single issue, that or world peace; either’s good.
