Ahh, the age old question of whether you can bruise someone with an orange in a sock in ten whacks is currently being debated at 2+2.
With a potential 10K prop bet riding on the result, plenty of posters have chimed in so far, with most falling on the side of the debate that, indeed, you can probably bruise someone with an orange in a sock. Thank god for 2+2, where the world’s important questions are finally answered, each and every day.

Not a bad year at all for Ben Grundy (aka milkybarkid) at the PLO tables at Full Tilt, per this thread at Hendon Mob:

Kind of amusing that assorted people point out that the graph should be taken with a grain of salt as it’s just a 46K hand sample. I’d be more than happy to need a grain of salt with any graph of mine that shows a $2.3+ million profit on the year from clicking a mouse, so that seems a bit of stupid criticism to make. Granted, indeed, ’tis a very swingy game at those stakes, but an impressive graph nonetheless.

Any poker player that’s logged a decent number of hands has hit a rough patch when seemingly nothing goes right, but it’s usually a fairly short rough patch. Running terribly (60 or so buy-ins below equity at $100NL) over 80,000+ hands, though, is a whole other world of suck:

The maths of encountering such a streak of bad luck (which is essentially what happens when you’re running below your expected equity) is somewhere around .005%, so, umm, yeah. That’s running pretty damn bad.

Pretty damny funny thread here at 2+2 showing that, yet again, it’s PokerStars ftw when it comes to hiring not just competent support staff but ones with a sense of humor (and who are allowed to express it):

Hello Bryan,
Thank you for your email. I’ve reviewed that hand but I’m really not sure
why you have sent it to us?
You went all-in as an underdog pre-flop and lost. I’m not sure what’s so
significant about that?

Hello Bryan,
If he had “a dungeon” then I’m pretty sure 73 cents would not be
sufficient to bribe the jailor. Luckily as we don’t, you don’t have to
bribe anyone.

I am losing, being that I am, of course a winning poker player. Please,
show me a blueprint of the Pokerstars headquarters so as to assure me that
there is no dungeon.

Hello Bryan,
There is almost nothing in poker that is “statistically impossible”.
Statistically unlikely perhaps, but not impossible. However we can not
comment on why you may or may not be losing on our site as that isn’t
something we have any control over.
We make our money from rake and tournament fees alone. It makes no
difference to us who wins and loses. Clearly we aren’t going to
arbitrarily decide to ‘punish’ some players and ‘reward’ others. To do
such a thing clearly makes no sense at all and obviously we do not do that.
We hope your luck improves in the future.
Regards,
ScottW

Yet another laptop meets an untimely end, along with some other pretty funny pics and tales of various destruction of electronic gear.

Categories: Misbehavin'.
Original post in the thread occured yesterday in this thread, with 23 pages and counting of responses already, involving some well-known high stakes 2+2 players/mods (admo and Cornell Fiji) and a $30K unpaid debt.
Cliff Notes:
2+2 Moderator Steven Ware (Cornell Fiji) stole $30,000 from me. To date he has not paid any of it back.Story
3-4 weeks ago I responded to Steve’s post to trade his cash for online. He said that he had several offers but that he wanted to trade with me “because he knew he wouldn’t get ripped off”. I offered to fly back to Vegas to do the trade, since he was offering cash at no vig and I needed to pick up my ME tourney cash anyway. He said that wouldn’t be necessary– he could deposit directly into my bank account, so I offered to send first since he seemed like a stand-up guy. I send $30,000 to his FTP account (TheMatadorKGB); he didn’t reciprocate. He said that he didn’t leave his room all day and that he’d deposit in the morning. Then he disappears for two days, ignoring PMs and text msgs. On the third day leaves a message on my cell saying “well I’m sure you probably guessed what happened…”He PM’d saying that he’s a complete ******* and degenerate and that he blew the $30K at Bellagio. Promised to make good as soon as he got back to New Jersey in a day or two. Disappears for another 2 days. I tell him to send the $30K back via FTP immediately. He says he can’t b/c he lost it to “Boosted’s luckbox.”
Mostly he ignores my PMs asking him what he’s doing to repay. When he does respond, he has said that he would:
(i) Borrow from friends
(ii) Borrow from family
(iii) Sell everything he owns
(iv) Repay via advance from his upcoming book
(v) Repay in a month and a half when he can sell some stockHe tells me he’s “doing everything he can” but hasn’t paid back anything, not even some small good faith amount, despite there being a branch of my bank literally within walking distance from his house.
What has Steve done since he ripped me off on July 15th?
– Continued posting about those “thieving bastards at UB”.
– Posted some interesting(?) strategy threads in MTT (one , two)
– Challenged stealthmunk to a minimum $250K HU 4 ROLLZ
– Helped make some web comics
What now?
I set up a reasonable $2.5K/week payment plan. The deadline for the first payment was yesterday, which I extended to today because he PM’d that he was getting a loan from his brother-in-law. He said he’d be in touch today to tell me what happened either way. Banks just closed on the East Coast and there is no deposit from Steve. Unsurprisingly, he hasn’t PM’d or texted all day.I have told him more than once that I will not allow him to steal from my family. My hope is that making this public will expediate the repayment process, but either way I am confident that I will recover the money. (plus any money I spend recovering the money) I’ve held off saying anything or filing a police report because I don’t need to ruin the guy’s life for something stupid that he did. But we’ve come to the point where he’s taken advantage of my goodwill.
In the end, I honestly don’t think that Steve is a bad guy. He’s a (self-admitted) degenerate gambler who made a pretty terrible decision. However, he continues to compound the problem by avoiding contact with me and burying his head in the sand. He asked me not to out him on 2+2, but has promised to pay back what he took regardless of whether or not I do which is sort of honorable(?)
Steve– in a short while I’m going to involve both the authorities and my attorneys. In my letter I laid out exactly what this will mean for you; I’d urge you to avoid it at all costs.
If Steven ignores this advice, I invite everyone to follow along…
Most posters seem to be on admo’s side, and Cornell Fiji has apparently deleted other threads on 2+2 discussing the situation. Other posters have also come forward with claims that Cornell Fiji owes them money as well. No public response from Cornell Fiji yet.

Full Tilt released 6 new avatars in their latest software update and there’s already a 2+2 thread discussing the relative merits of the new avatars:

Right now i am using the Policeofficer.
My theory is that the policeman is the hero and will not lose big hands just b/c he is such a good guy. Plus ive seen PineApple Express and that Samuel L Jackson movie where he is a cop looks amazing good.
The Leprechaun- it makes it seem as if it gives u luck but really it does nothing and attracts bad hands
The Wizard- very gay imo. You lose EV unless u use lines from what a wizard would say like in Potter books. Or the infamous, ” I put on my wizard hat and robe”
Penguin- It gives u alot of small poocket pair which are a joke at times cuz u flop bottom set only to run into top set. Penguin is teh gay unless u like birds.
Panda- Asian people use the panda, but pandas are stupid they eat bamboo which is limited in some of the areas they live in the world. The panda deserves to die it needs to eat different kind of food like grass, cuz there seems to be alot of it around the world
James bond lookin dude- common among white players b/c they can relate to him. But its dealt alot of cooler set up hands
I played with the panda for a few hours last night, and that fucker cost me about two buy-ins at the LO8 tables. I won’t go so far to say that he needs to die, but he’s definitely on notice unless he gets his act together.
